EMC urges Prime Minister Stephen Harper to welcome EV in Canada.
Given that several vehicle manufacturers will be offering plug-in vehicles before 2012, EMC thinks that unless Canada offers significant incentives for the early adopters of this new technology, the vehicle manufacturers may not deploy these vehicles in Canada. The letter to the Prime Minister explains this issue and urges quick action by the Government of Canada.

Road Map for Electric Mobility Canada
A key item in our 2007 Business Plan was the development and adoption of a Technology Road Map for Electric Mobility in Canada. EMC was pleased with the recent announcement from Natural Resources Canada that a road map would be initiated shortly. A Technology Road Map (TRM) is a process tool to help identify the key technologies that an industry, a sector or a company needs to succeed in the future, and the projects or steps required to get those technologies developed and implemented by Canadian industry.
Directory of Electric Mobility Resources for Canada
Under a contract received from Natural Resources Canada (acting on behalf of the Interdepartmental Working Group on electric Mobility), EMC has started the compilation of a Canadian Directory of Electric Mobility Resources. This directory will list all private companies, academic institutions and public sector agencies currently involved or with an interest in electric mobility. In turn, EMC retained the services of Marcon DDM of Montreal to carry out the research required in this project. We urge you to cooperate with the personnel from Marcon DDM when they contact you.
